 SMK Corporation has launched its High Speed Data connector is an interface connector developed to connect to the internal wiring of car-navigation systems, car audio, odometer and the like, as well as to devices such as on-board cameras. As the communication speeds of car-navigation, car-audio and other on-board systems have increased in recent years, the need for connectors that can support high-speed transmission has been steadily growing.
 In the near future European vehicles will come with standard-equipped High Speed Data connectors. Needs are also expected to expand in the North American market.
 To create a product that is highly noise-resistant, the High Speed Data connector is built with a shield that covers the signal terminal.
