SMK Develops FPC to Board Connector for Small Mobile Devices Featuring Industry’s Smallest Class Mounting Area
(40% Smaller than Conventional Products)
SMK Corporation has developed the “FB-10 series” FPC to board connector for connecting the batteries of small mobile devices, which expands the product line of ”FB series”.
In the small mobile device market in recent years, there has been a growing demand for even smaller connectors for connecting batteries. The newly developed “FB-10 series” features its space-saving design. With SMK’s original structure, it achieved the stack height of 0.6 mm and the external dimensions of 1.7 mm (width) x 3.2 mm (Depth), allowing 40 percent smaller mounting area than the company’s conventional products*.
In order to meet the requirements for the increase in the number of signal pins for improved functionality of batteries, “FB-10 series” is configured with four signal pins (two more than the "FB -7 series").
Furthermore, it is built with a unique locking structure on the terminal and hold-down, which offers high retention force in spite of its small size and low profile.
*In comparison with SMK’s conventional product ”FB-7 series” with comparable rated current (3.5A/power pin).
