SMK Electronics has developed the LoRaWAN® compatible GPS Tracker Lite, a low-power, wide-area location tracking device designed to deliver reliable, scalable workforce visibility across large and distributed field environments. Samples are now available. 

Powered by LoRaWAN® technology, the device enables long-range connectivity with minimal power consumption, making it well-suited for deployments where traditional tracking solutions are impractical due to battery constraints, infrastructure limitations, or scale.

While location tracking itself is not new, organizations today face a more complex challenge:  how to deliver continuous, reliable, and cost-effective location intelligence across diverse and often infrastructure-limited environments.

Industries such as agriculture, construction, utilities, and infrastructure maintenance are under increasing pressure to improve productivity while addressing ongoing labor shortages. At the same time, safety requirements, particularly for lone workers, are becoming more stringent.

In these environments, delayed incident detection and limited visibility into worker activity can significantly increase operational risk. As a result, organizations are prioritizing solutions that provide real-time awareness, scalable deployment across the entire workforce, and dependable emergency response capabilities.

Field Validation Underway

Proof-of-concept (PoC) trials are currently in progress at large-scale plantation operations in Southeast Asia, where the solution is being evaluated for its ability to support both worker safety and operational efficiency in real-world conditions.
