mmWave Monitoring Sensor
~Silver Shield~

Silver Shield is a non-contact monitoring sensor that uses millimeter waves and can be easily installed. Using waves reflected off the subject being monitored, it can sense the subject's location in a room, whether the subject has fallen, the amount of activity, and the presence of breathing (under development).
It can also monitor private spaces which are difficult to monitor using cameras.
Features
01
Using an original algorithm and AI, it detects with high accuracy the subject's location, whether the subject has fallen, the amount of activity, and the presence of breathing (under development).
02
A single sensor can cover a floor space of 36 square meters, and even blind spots such as the area behind furniture.
03
Monitoring is possible without using cameras. It can be used in toilets and changing rooms where privacy is of concern, as well as dark environments such as nighttime.
Technical Overview and Product Specifications
Detection Using Millimeter Waves
By emitting millimeter waves (60GHz range) into space and using an original algorithm and AI to analyze the waves reflected off the detected subject, the subject's location in a room, whether the subject has fallen, the amount of activity, and the presence of breathing can be determined with high accuracy.

Detection Function
Occupancy Detection
It is possible to monitor in real time the subject's presence in a room as well as their location.
The monitoring results can be displayed immediately on smartphones and desktops.

Bed Exit Detection
It is possible to detect immediately when the subject leaves the bed. Once detected, the information will be instantly displayed on a smartphone or desktop.

Fall Detection
If the subject falls, it can be detected within a few seconds.
Notification of the detection results can be immediately sent to smartphones and desktops.

Breathing Detection (Under Development)
Breathing information is detected when the subject is in a state of rest.
Feedback about the breathing state is given in real time.

Use Cases
Remote Monitoring of Elderly People Living Alone
It can achieve monitoring of an elderly person living alone by detecting the person's presence in a room, monitoring the person when present, and detecting and providing notifications of falls.
This provides a monitored environment with peace of mind to family members who live separately or to caregivers.

Tenant Monitoring for Property Owners
The tenant's presence and breathing are monitored and linked to a call center. This reduces the risk of a property's value decreasing due to an elderly person dying alone, something which is increasing year after year.

Tenant Monitoring for Hospitals and Care Facilities
By detecting the tenant’s presence and breathing and offering notifications regarding falls, it contributes toward reducing the number of hospital/care facility staff manhours for managing patients/tenants.
