Industry's shortest 0.6 mm profile when mounted
0.4 mm pitch FPC connectors, EN-42 series
developed and marketed

We are pleased to announce the development and the commencement of marketing of the EN-42 series 0.4 mm pitch FPC connectors.

In recent years, narrower pin spacing, smallness, lower profile and higher density mounting possibility are the properties required also of FPC connectors for internal connection, as design trends with portable equipment such as mobile phones and DSCs rapidly progresses for further smallness, thinness and higher functionality.

This product, with its profile being the industry's lowest 0.6 mm when mounted (20% reduction from our previous equivalent product), responds to such needs. A 4.0 mm depth will facilitate still smaller and thinner equipment design.

With the top surface comprising a shielding cover (patent pending), it ensures high contact reliability due to the shielding characteristics and the strengthened connector. Combined use with a shielded FPC will improve grounding performance jointly by the FPC connector and the connector for more effective counter-EMI measures.

One action is sufficient for FPC insertion due to the N-ZIF structure employed. Also, its original housing structure will make automatic FPC insertion possible.
